Savings Garden

a little of this and a little of that and a whole lot of savings.

Lots of Goodies 1/07/2009

It's been a while since I posted a shopping trip. This has been a good week for hair care and the week is not over yet. I still have many coupons to use. If I would have purchased this stuff when it wasn't on sale and without coupons, I would have spent $152.

What did I end up spending? $2.75 (including 2 pints of Ben & Jerry's not pictured) paid with a gift card. I did use a $10 register reward that was expiring so if you count that then it's $12.75. However, I earned a $4 register reward for the slimquick and will earn $8.49 for the Orajel back on my gift card + 10% for opting for a gift card instead of cash back. That's a $.59 profit for $152 worth of stuff.

At Albertson's today (not pictured) I also picked up 3 bottles of softsoap hand soap on sale for $1 ea. and used (3) $.35/1 MQ tripled to $1 = Free.

Then I wondered down the make-up isle to find tons of their L'Oreal items on sale 75% off. Many items were $2 or less. I had a bunch of coupons with me since the Walgreens and CVS selections have been quite picked over so I picked up some more free lip gloss and eyeliner. $2 and $3 coupons were in last Sunday's paper.
And in case you didn't catch this, Aquafresh Extreme Clean is on sale at Walgreens for $3. Use $2 IV coupon on page 17 and this $1/1 printable for a free tube of toothpaste. Note: these are on clearance at my store so check to see if they are on sale at yours.

Any extra items I won't use I will donate to the missionaries or the local family services, or use for birthday gift baskets. I think my niece's would love a make-up and toiletries gift basket. I know I would (as long as it wasn't Garnier. I hope another brand of hair care starts having a sale soon, I have a lot of this kind).

How has your week been going?
